Health Walks

Our regular health walks are a great way to lead an active, healthy lifestyle, in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. We have a variety of walks on offer which take place across the district every week, lasting approximately one hour. These free walks provide our residents with the chance to meet new people and experience the beautiful landscapes of Winchester.

Our Health Walks have been suspended recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re looking at bringing them back safely and are currently inviting local people to volunteer to help us run them. If you would like more information on how to get involved please contact activelifestyles@winchester.gov.uk.

  • Become a Walk Leader

These walks heavily rely on the fantastic support from our local volunteer walk leaders and we are currently in search for more to join our team. Walk leaders are required to attend a free, virtual half-day course in order to become qualified. Once completed, leaders will then be responsible for a group walk on a regular basis, or on a more infrequent basis as they wish. A newly qualified walk leader will be accompanied by a member of the Sport and Physical Activity Team upon their first walk to ensure they are happy with the training they have received and feel safe leading the walks.

To become one of our walk leaders, if you are interested please fill out the form here or contact us on activelifestyles@winchester.gov.uk (01962 848 493).
