Residents’ Survey

Earlier this year we commissioned M E L Research to undertake on our behalf a doorstep survey of 1,600 residents across the district to gain valuable insight into their opinion of the council and its services.

The survey was statistically valid with a stratified random sampling approach to select approximately 100 residents addresses across all 16 wards.

Running at the same time was a Young Persons’ Survey where 500 young people aged between 18 and 24 were interviewed.

The council is performing very strongly in the context of results across the South East of England.

Feedback from both surveys has also given us  valuable insight into the views and needs of our residents. As part of our efforts to listen better to residents, we’re reviewing the detailed responses from various communities to individual questions and will work with ward and parish members to hear more.

Our refreshed Council Plan will reflect the Residents’ Survey – with specific areas of focus to help support local communities.
