Lost/damaged bins

Please note: Household waste and recycling bins are the responsibility of the householder.

  • As a householder, you are responsible for providing and maintaining your refuse and recycling bins, and for replacing them if worn out, damaged, vandalised, lost or stolen. This includes if your bin has broken during a collection because it has become brittle due to its age. This can become increasingly likely after the bin has reached 10 years old.
  • If you need to replace a worn out, damaged, vandalised, lost or stolen bin, you should contact Biffa directly on 01962 670 706 to arrange for payment and delivery of the new bin. The current cost for a new bin is £38.18 including delivery.
  • Note: Only one 240 litre refuse bin can be purchased per household, unless you are eligible for additional bins. There is no limit on the number of recycling bins a household may purchase.
  • If your bin has been lost or damaged by the collection crew, please report this using this online form. If your case is approved you will get a free replacement.
