Bulky waste items

Temporary changes to waste collections due to COVID-19

  • Bulky waste collections

Bulky waste collections can be booked with extra measures in place to keep you and our contractor team safe. We do expect the service to be popular, so you may have a slightly longer wait than usual. Thank you for your patience.

Please bear the following in mind when you book your collection:

    • Collections take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
    • Our contractor, Biffa, is not currently able to enter your property to remove items
    • Please leave the item for collection inside your property boundary but where we can easily collect it
    • If anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms, please let us know when you book as there may be specific measures you need to take before we can collect your item. Please see the advice here.

Call 01962 670706 to book your collection.

Our contractors, Biffa provide a chargeable bulky waste collection service for getting rid of large household items which can't be disposed of through the domestic waste collections.

You can book and pay for a collection by calling Biffa directly on 01962 670 706. Collections are carried out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday subject to availability in the Winchester District.

Many of the things we no longer need can either be put to good use by someone else. If your item is in good condition try using the Smart Living Reuse Directory to find a furniture reuse charity near you: www.hants.gov.uk/wasteandrecycling/smartliving/inthehome/reusesites

You can also dispose of large bulky items yourself at a HCC Household Waste Recycling Centre.
