Live Longer Better
Staying active is one of the most important things we can do to keep living life to the full. It can help you feel fit, strong and energised, improve your sleep and mood, and help you feel more positive - and It’s also a great way to stay socially connected.
When we talk about being active, that doesn't mean running marathons or lifting weights at the gym, it's simply about moving more. That’s why we're offering local exercise and movement classes for adults aged 65 and over, right here in your community, through the Live Longer Better project.
Live Longer Better is funded by Hampshire County Council and supported by Energise Me. It’s all about helping you stay independent, healthy, and connected for longer through movement.
There are currently two types of classes on offer through Live Longer Better:
- Dance for Health Class: Discover the joy of movement! Our classes improve balance, strength, flexibility, and mobility while you enjoy uplifting music and dance. These sessions support healthy ageing, boost confidence, and foster social connections.
- Low-Level Exercise Class: A range of structured exercises aimed to improve strength, balance, and movement.
Please see the timetable below for local exercise and movement classes. To register your interest, contact our Health Improvement Manager Calum Drummond by emailing cdrummond@winchester.gov.uk or calling 07980 732158.
