New Homes Programme

New Homes Programme

There is a genuine shortage of affordable properties in Winchester, with demand for affordable homes massively outstripping supply and the number of people on the waiting list is increasing monthly.

The council is constructing new affordable Council Homes and also working with Registered Providers (sometimes known as Housing Associations) to provide new affordable housing across the district.

We are working to ensure that every resident across the district has access to a good quality home that is both affordable and energy efficient. To achieve this we have set an ambitious target to provide 1000 new homes between 2021 and 2030. We also have bold ambitions to mitigate the climate emergency through our house building programme by designing and building new homes to achieve as close to net zero emissions as possible.
