There are a number of clubs and societies that operate in the Winchester District. If you have weekly, monthly or yearly meetings that members of the public are invited to attend please email details to events@winchester.gov.uk  and they will be added to the list below.

  • Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu

    Japanese based martial arts open to all people 18+
    FIRST SESSION IS FREE!!! Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese based martial art consisting of a variety of techniques including throws and strikes. Fun sessions and a great way to meet new people.

  • Aida Belly Dance Classes

    New open level belly dance classes starting on Thursday 18th July at 7pm-8pm in the dance studio of Henry Beaufort school Winchester. Belly dance is a low impact dance suitable for all! Hate the gym? Why not try belly dance! Throw away those baggy gym t-shirts that hide the fabulous you and get back to enjoying exercise! All shapes, sizes, genders and ages loved!

  • Let's Talk Birth and Baby

    Midwife Led Antenatal Course. Three classes before you baby arrives to learn all about late pregnancy, labour, birth, pain relief, infant feeding and practical parenting. Continued Midwife support throughout pregnancy, including support for birth partners and a Midwife home visit. Reunion once all babies have arrived.

  • Southampton Mardave Radio Control Car Club - family fun racing model cars indoors

    A fund friendly club with racers from 5 - 55 years of age. Hot food and drinks are available on site. It is free to watch and there are enthusiasts to answer any questions and point you in the right direction to get you started on this fund and exciting hobby.

  • Winchester CTC

    The CTC is the national cycling charity; it helps and inspires you to cycle and keep cycling. Winchester CTC is the local CTC group for the Winchester area, including Chandlers Ford and Bishops Waltham. 
    Membership: You don't need to be a CTC member when you first come out on a ride. You can ride with guest membership for 3 rides before joining.

  • Winchester Fit Club - Free Fitness

    Winchester Fit Club aims to work holistically with individuals on their wellbeing both in terms of exercise and nutrition to ensure that personal results are surpassed at the same time as meeting new people and adding a socially interactive day to your diary. Ability, size or age doesn't matter, you can work at your own pace and there will always be someone else at your level so you'll never feel isolated. Wear comfortable sportswear and suitable footwear for workout, bring a water bottle and it is advised to bring a small towel just in case you need it.
    When: Wednesdays 7 - 8 pm, Saturdays 10 - 11 am
    Venue: Summer: Palmer Field, next to Kingsgate Tennis Club, Bottom of St Catherine's Hill. Please do not use the Tennis Car Park, park on Garnier Road or Garnier Road Car Park.

  • Winchester Kettlebell Club

    Our weekly kettlebell sport sessions provide a full body workout with the added motivation of training for regional, national and international competitions. The Online Kettlebell Challenge Cup on Facebook and the Grassroots competitions that take place around the country are a great way to start competing in a fun and friendly environment.

    Kettlebell Sport is not about lifting the heaviest weight you can - it is about lifting a comfortable weight as many times as possible in a set period of time using technique judged to be acceptable for the particular lift. Sessions are coached by Simon Tarrant, REPS Registered Level 3 Personal Trainer and qualified Kettlebells Instructor. Expert demonstrations are given by England team member Ruth Tarrant.
    Beginners and experienced lifters are equally welcome!
    We operate as a not-for-profit community sports club with the intention to register as a charity

  • Winchester Shape Note Singing Group

    Winchester Shape Note Singing continues a community singing tradition from the American South.  If you are new to singing or shape note music, we take things nice and slowly and explain everything we do.  We’ll make sure you start singing straight away!  We are not a choir – you don’t need to read music or have sung before, there are no auditions or rehearsals. It's not about technical perfection – it’s about enthusiasm and participation.

  • Winchester Sporting Memories club

    Sporting Memories clubs are open to any people over the age of 50 who enjoy reminiscing about their experiences of watching or playing sport. They take place each week in a friendly, welcoming environment – in Winchester this is the Lido building just off Worthy Lane. Many of our members attend to enjoy the company of other older sports fans, some live with dementia or have memory problems, some have experienced depression, they may have had a stroke or live with Parkinson's – but they all have one thing in common, a love for sport! New friendships are forged and some remarkable stories can emerge over a cup of tea! The Winchester club also incorporates gentle physical activities such as Skittles, New Age Kurling and Boccia. Come and join us! The first session is FREE, with weekly subs of just £1.50 thereafter. Refreshments included!

  • Winchester Sunday Night 5 a-side

    5-a-side football for individuals. Every Sunday for about 60 minutes.
    Regardless of your current fitness level, your ability or if you haven't played in years, everyone is welcome. Matches are played in good spirit and the emphasis is on having fun... whilst improving your fitness!
    * If it's your first game, meet inside the leisure centre, in the reception area. You can wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. However NO screw in studded footwear or blades are permitted. Training shoes, moulded soles or astro boots are all acceptable.

  • Winchester Tennis League

    If you would like to get back into tennis or meet new people to play, try the Winchester Tennis League. Designed to make it easy for adults of all abilities to play friendly, competitive singles matches, it organises players are into groups of 6-8 of  similar level. Everyone arranges their own matches at a mutually convenient time over 8 weeks and can use any court that suits them both.  
    There are four 8-week rounds a year.
