2026 Elections - key information
Elections for Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council district and parish elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
Some key dates to remember for the election include:

20 April: midnight - last day to register to vote (if you're not already registered)

21 April 5pm: last day to apply for a postal vote

28 April 5pm: last day to apply for a proxy vote

28 April 5pm: last day to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate
Apply for a Voter Authority Certificate
Your usual photo ID will be accepted (even if it's out of date as long as it still looks like you) If you do not have suitable ID, then you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. We can help you do this if you need support. Contact ereg@winchester.gov.uk or call 01962 848125.
