Final call for digital needs survey

Winchester City Council is calling on residents and businesses to share their experiences to help shape the future of the digital economy. The short survey is designed to capture the local experience of current broadband and mobile services and to gain insight into future needs.

COVID-19 has been a catalyst for change and our home and work lives have relied more heavily on better digital connectivity so we can stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues. Excellent infrastructure is essential and the council wants to understand the needs of everyone who uses digital services in any way.

Cllr Anne Weir, Chair of the Digital Winchester Task and Finish Group at Winchester City Council, commented:

“We’re encouraging everyone to share their thoughts to get a broad range of perspective and opinions on the future of the digital economy.”

Cllr Martin Tod, the city council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Recoveryadded:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us that the ability to access and embrace digital technology has become even more vital. As part of its economic recovery plans the council is strongly committed to improving digital services and is also in the process of launching its e-commerce platform to make it easier for local residents to buy from local businesses online.”

The survey can be found here.  The deadline is Wednesday 30 June 2021.
