New Honorary Recorder of Winchester is announced

A new Honorary Recorder of Winchester has been announced following unanimous agreement at a virtual Full Council meeting on 13 January.

Her Honour Judge Angela Morris has been appointed and will follow His Honour Judge Keith Cutler, who has served since 2009.

The role of Honorary Recorder is a ceremonial one which recognises and cements the relationship of the council with the law courts as an important part of the status, life and economy of Winchester and attend many of the council’s civic events.

Cllr Patrick Cunningham, Mayor of Winchester, said:

“I would like to offer my personal thanks to His Honour Judge Keith Cutler, as well as gratitude from the city for his valuable contribution and wish him well in his retirement. I congratulate and welcome Her Honour Judge Angela Morris as Honorary Recorder and look forward to working with her in her respected role.”
