Work has now started on transforming the former depot site in Bishop’s Waltham into new business units for light industrial use.

As part of Winchester City Council’s plans to support businesses in the southern parishes of the district, work to demolish the depot and create three new units started this month.

The units are part of the substantial investment on behalf of the council and will provide approx. 611 sq. m (6,576 sq. ft. ) of floor space.

Winchester City Council Cabinet Member for Housing and Asset Management, Cllr Kelsie Learney said: “This is not an easy time for many businesses but we are doing all we can to help, and the fact we are continuing with this scheme showcases how important we feel it is.

“Now work has begun, we are confident we can quickly let these units out and provide high quality space in one of our very popular market towns, and support local businesses.”

The scheme was approved at the start of the year and is expected to be completed by Autumn 2021.
