Mayor of Winchester launches Community Awards

The search is on for people and organisations that have made a real difference in the Winchester district, as part of the Mayor of Winchester’s Community Awards.

Previous winners have included volunteers who dedicate their time for free, or people who go the extra mile in their day jobs.

Last year a total of 54 people and eight organisations received awards.

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eleanor Bell, said:

“We want to celebrate the selfless activity that brightens the lives of residents, and makes our district such a wonderful place to live. I’m urging people to nominate the people who deserve a huge public thank you. We welcome applications for all ages and any community organisation that is making a difference.”

To make a nomination, you can contact your district councillor or local parish council with details of your nominee/s so that they can submit the nomination on your behalf. People can also nominate online at

The closing date for nominations is Sunday 9 February 2020 and shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend an awards ceremony on Thursday 19 March 2020.
