Winchester children’s play area reopens in style 

A children’s play area which has undergone an imaginative transformation has been officially reopened.

Gordon Avenue play area in Highcliffe has benefitted from a major makeover and now has a range of new equipment including a castle play unit, boat play structure, trampoline, swings and a balance trail.

To mark the opening, children from All Saints Pre-School met with Wonky the Woodpecker and Cabinet Member for environment, Cllr Lynda Murphy.

Cabinet Member for environment, Cllr Lynda Murphy said:

“It was brilliant to see this new play area reopen, and to see the children have such a fantastic time on the new equipment. This play area has had a new lease of life and I hope children will play here for many years to come.It is vital the council continues to provide excellent open spaces and play areas for families to enjoy."
