Former police station to be demolished to pave the way for new affordable council homes

Plans have been approved to demolish a former police station site in the district to provide new affordable housing.

Planning permission has been agreed for the city council to demolish the old Twyford Police Station on Dolphin Hill to make way for two new homes.

Winchester City Council Leader and Portfolio Holder for Housing Cllr Caroline Horrill said:

“I am delighted that we can press ahead with providing new affordable housing in Twyford at Dolphin Hill.

“Every affordable home matters in our district and this will contribute to our ambitious plan to build 1,000 new homes over the next ten years.”

Construction work will start on the scheme in the Spring of this year.
