£32,000 of grant opportunities open for application
Grants worth £32,000 are available to not-for-profit organisations from Winchester City Council. Applications are open until early September.
Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, Cllr James Byrnes, said:
This is an ideal opportunity for not-for-profit organisations to benefit from a community grant. In my role as Portfolio Holder I recently visited the Warren Centre at Micheldever for its grand opening. Last year the Council made an exceptional contribution towards the transformation of this community hub.”
The Warren Centre project will see the rebuilt hall serve as a community hub, providing improved facilities for existing local groups and activities and changing facilities for local sports clubs whilst also accommodating health-related outreach clinics and ‘wrap –around’ childcare.
Community project grants for building and project grants are open until 8 September. Not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of over £500 for funding towards the cost of one-off projects, specialised equipment, start-ups and improvements, renovations or construction of facilities. Organisations can apply online or print off the form and complete it:

Melissa Fletcher, Funding & Development Officer, said:
Our project grants are awarded for all manner of projects: arts, sports, new-builds, increasing capacity in existing structures. As long as your organisation is a not-for-profit organisation which benefits the residents of Winchester and district it is worth considering applying.
Also currently open for application to not-for-profit organisations is the small grants scheme with a closing date of 15 September 2015.
This scheme is for one-off expenditure on projects, equipment and other items which will help organisations to do more, reach more people, provide better services or try something different.
