UK Shared and Rural England Prosperity Funds

UK Shared Prosperity Fund 2025-2026  and Rural England Prosperity Fund 2025-2026 - now open for applications

If you are wondering which is the more appropriate fund for your project, a simple rule of thumb is that non-rural applicants (this mainly applies to Winchester City and Whiteley) are only able to apply for the UKSPF.  Likewise, if your project requires funding for intangibles such as feasibility studies or training courses, then the UKSPF is the fund to apply for.  Further detail is provided in the guidance to the right of this page and we do recommend a thorough read of this before you start your application.

Closing dates:

  • UKSPF - 27 May 2025, 9am
  • REPF - 11 June 2025, 9am

Funds available:

  • UKSPF (capital and revenue projects) - £327,000
  • REPF (capital projects only) - £223,500

Awards: £25,000-£50,000

Apply here  (We use a third-party platform for which first time applicants will need to create an account.  All applicants are reminded to read the guidance notes to the right hand side of of this web page before submitting their application).

Winchester City Council's funds have been designed to align with both the national agenda and the council's local objectives of:

  • Tackling the Climate Emergency and Creating a Greener District
  • Vibrant Local Economy
  • Living Well

In 2022, Winchester District was awarded almost £1.75 million to spend on local investment through both the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund.  At the close of the three-year funding period, we had successfully invested in around 60 projects, details of which can be seen below.
