Description
Join one of Winchester’s professional guides for a 90 minute walking tour, starting at Winchester Visitor Information Centre. Visit the streets where real crimes once shocked the city and hear stories of notorious trials, fearsome criminals, and unusual punishments. With a famous law courts in an ancient building, a prison, a debtors prison, a bridewell prison, a pillory and ‘cage’ and several execution sites, Winchester is the perfect place to explore crime and punishment through the ages. A fascinating mix of history, mystery, and a few shivers – told in a way that’s engaging, thoughtful and fun for curious kids and grown-ups alike.
