Description
Part of the inspiring workshops on offer at MADE Winchester Craft and Design Festival. Your chance to get creative and learn a new skill.
Through the meditative art of darning-loom weaving, we’ll rekindle relationships with the garments we already own, creating patches that are miniature works of art. This hands-on workshop invites you to slow down and honour your clothes with visible, beautiful mending techniques. You’ll learn to use a darning loom to weave colourful, textured repairs that tell stories rather than hide them—turning worn spots and tears into badges of love and continued use. This workshop will take 2.5 hours. What to bring: A garment ready for mending, and any yarns or threads you’d like to incorporate into your repair. What you’ll take home: Your practice swatch, your mended garment(s), and you can purchase your own darning loom to continue your mending journey. *Free with a Winchester Cathedral annual pass, but do require booking
