Description

This exhibition brings to life the world of the Regency soldier, both on the battlefield and beyond. It delves into the harsh realities of campaign life, the evolution of military uniforms, and the more personal side of life as a soldier on campaign. Visitors are invited to explore not only the soldier’s experience but also the lives of their families, including the often-overlooked stories of the women and children who were present at the Battle of Waterloo. Perfect for history buffs and Austen fans alike, the exhibition also features hands-on family activities – craft a mask fit for a Regency ball, dress up in period attire for a memorable photo op, and follow our themed Museum trail! The exhibition is free with your admission to the Museum. Please note that the exhibition will be temporarily unavailable from 12th-14th August.
