Septic tank upgrade - Bishop's Sutton
Grant funding available
We're working with Solent Mitigation Partnership (SMP) to help fund homeowners so they can replace older septic tanks to modern treatment plants. These upgraded systems help protect our rivers, improve local water quality and support precious wildlife across the River Itchen catchment and the Solent.
You can apply if:
- You live in parts of Bishop Sutton, along the Itchen river
- You own a residential property
- Your septic tank is over 10 years old
- You fall within the correct water catchment area
Priority will be given to Council Tax bands A–D.

Up to £30,000 grant is available to upgrade your septic tank
The SMP will cover the cost of replacing your existing septic tank with a modern Package Treatment Plant.
