Local Land Charges
We are currenlty working with HMLR to migrate Winchester's Local Land Charges Register to a new centralised digital registrer. Our current timetable would enable us to go live in October with the Migration Project. We will give all our customers plenty of notice before the change occurs.
This means that Search applications requests both Official and Personal will take longer to be processed and returned, so please submit your search in plenty of time.
Our current turnaround time for ALL types of searches at present is up to 8 weeks but we doing our best to return to a normal service

All Personal Searches continue to be emailed to the address on the form submitted.
The Local Land Charges Department provides information to solicitors and other conveyancing professionals, as part of the conveyancing process for land and property sales.
The service provides information on various matters that may affect a property. These include details of planning permissions and restrictions, highway rights and proposals, development proposals for the property, environmental health notices, and building control matters. This information is used by solicitors to advise clients, as part of the process of buying a property.
On average the department deals with around 4,000 searches a year and our turnaround time for a search is still approximately 10 working days.
