New multicoloured mural and seating area enhances outdoor space
The external space at The Arc Winchester is now a riot of colour thanks to a new ground surface mural and outdoor seating area.
The mural and seating have been added at The Arc, which is part of Hampshire Cultural Trust, with the support of a UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) grant, awarded by Winchester City Council.
The city council’s shared prosperity programme has invested £2.3 million to 82 different projects over the last four years - with every pound in funding generating a further 92p worth of match funding investment into the Winchester district.
The new mural has been designed by Peagreen Studio and installed by Fun and Active playgrounds.
Councillor Lucille Thompson, Winchester City Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Culture, said: “This new mural is a wonderful bright and beautiful burst of colour outside The Arc, and the outdoor seating area is already proving to be very popular with visitors to this community venue. It’s a wonderful welcome as you approach the cultural space, and young children have already been seen admiring and following the lovely rainbow painted pathway.”
