Award-winning singer/songwriter returns to Guildhall Winchester with local support

Scott Matthews is set to return to Guildhall Winchester on Friday 25 May, following his successful performance in 2016, with support from emerging Winchester talent Josh Savage.

Scott’s  ground- breaking debut album, ‘Passing Stranger’ earned him serious critical acclaim with its bold mix of folk, rock, blues and Eastern-inspired song-writing, and in 2007 his first single ‘Elusive’ won the Ivor Novello Award for ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’. He went on to perform on a number of international sell-out tours with respected artists such as Bert Jansch, Robert Plant and Alison Kraus, Foo Fighters, Rufus Wainwright and Tori Amos.

Josh Savage has been described as one of the most promising new artists to emerge in Winchester in years and regularly tours across Europe, making this collaborative event a must for music fans.

Guildhall Winchester Manager Chris Smith said:

Following his breathtaking performance in 2016, we are delighted that Scott is returning to the Guildhall later this month. We are also excited to welcome local singer songwriter Josh Savage who is supporting Scott, helping to promote the high quality local music scene in our District.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at http://www.guildhallwinchester.co.uk/events/details/254/or by calling 01962 840 820.
