New date for Winchester ‘Unconference’ announced

Winchester City Council’s highly subscribed ‘Unconference’ event, which was postponed due to the severe weather affecting the Winchester District on Friday 2 March, has been rescheduled the for Wednesday 9 May at Winchester Guildhall from 9.30am until 4.00pm.

The event theme will be: How can Winchester be a premier business location?

Organised by AHA Digital Ltd and supported by Konexus Consulting, UKGovCamp, NquiringMinds and Drawnalism, the ‘Unconference’ is not a conventional business conference. There is no pre-defined agenda - instead delegates will pitch session themes to each other and these will form the programme for the day’s activities. It is free for local business people to attend and the organisers are welcoming organisations of all sizes. A light lunch will be provided at the event, provided by Winchester City Council and the business sponsors.

Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Business Partnerships Cllr Robert Humby said:

“We were very disappointed that we had to cancel the Winchester Unconference on Friday 2 March, but the safety and welfare of the attendees and facilitators was of paramount importance to us.  We are now really keen to let people know the new date and are encouraging all businesses to register for this unique opportunity to network with the Council and other local businesses. We remain committed to enabling business growth across the district and look forward to hearing what local people have to say as we discuss how we can position ourselves as a premier business location.”

Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so early booking is recommended. To book your space visit: http://bit.ly/2pssohd. Businesses that registered for the 2 March event WILL need to re-register for the new date.

Delegates who have signed up to the Winchester Unconference are encouraged to talk about the event on social media using the hashtag #WinchBiz and to visit the event website, which has been designed by delegates, at http://bit.ly/2IA65yL
