91% of tenants happy with Council

Council house
Tenant satisfaction rises by 3%

Customer satisfaction with Winchester City Council has increased, with 91 per cent of tenants surveyed saying they are happy with the service they receive (compared to 89% when the survey was completed 2 years ago). Satisfaction levels around housing repairs, opportunities to get involved and neighbourhoods in general has also increased, compared to the last survey in 2015.

Tenants did raise concerns about how easy it was to contact the Council, requesting more information to justify service charges and there were also calls for more discretionary works, such as internal decorations if funds could be made available. 88% of tenants said they felt they got value for money for the rent they paid.

Cllr Caroline Horrill, Leader and Portfolio Holder for Housing said:

I'm really pleased and proud that tenants feel they receive good services from the Council. I'm committed to driving up value for money, particularly as housing services are funded directly from tenants rents. I will be working with housing teams, TACT and other tenant representatives to address all areas of concern the survey has highlighted. 91% is excellent, but it would be great to see satisfaction rates continue to rise

The City Council complete a comprehensive survey of over 30% of its tenants every two years in line with the national STAR standard to allow comparisons with other social landlords.
