Winnall businesses working together

Businesses from the Winnall area of Winchester are invited to attend an exploratory meeting to help shape their future.

The meeting, organised by Winchester City Council, will give local firms a chance to hear about their options for working together.

It will be held at King Alfred Youth Action Centre on Thursday 28 January at 8am and will include breakfast. Speakers will include Segensworth Business Improvement District, Whiteley management team and Alresford Chamber of Commerce.

Cllr James Byrnes, Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, encourages all Winnall-based businesses to attend. He said:

Collaboration is absolutely the key to future success. By working together, businesses have a stronger voice on issues that matter to them, and can champion causes which make a difference to their success. This event is just the start of the journey, setting out options for the future.

The Winnall Planning Framework research by consultants Parsons Brinkerhoff identified a co-ordinated business group as one of many actions to help Winnall work more effectively as a business location. The meeting will demonstrate the pros and cons of different operating structures.

The meeting is free to attend, but places are limited and must be booked in advance. To reserve your place, go to www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/winnall-business-forum-tickets-20732232666 or find out more email Kate Cloud, Head of Economy and Arts, at kcloud@winchester.gov.uk .
