Open day at Middle Farm, Cheriton

Middle Farm, Cheriton, is holding a family fun day on Sunday 7 June 2015 (11am-5pm), with free entry and parking.

The farm will join hundreds of others across the country in opening its gates to the public for the day, offering people the chance to meet and learn more about the work of a farmer, where their food is produced and how the surrounding countryside is cared for. The annual event, held by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) is in its tenth year.

The day will include a variety of family-friendly activities including tractor-and-trailer tours, demonstrations from vets, thatching, animals, farm machinery displays and more.

Families will also be able to try a wide range of different activities. Visitors can get up close and learn how to make their own sausages, bread and butter and see how to turn wheat into flour, rape into oil and cream into butter.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Middle Farm asks that visitors kindly leave dogs at home due to livestock on the farm.
