Mayor champions budding entrepreneurs

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eileen Berry, is hosting an informal information evening and dinner at Abbey House on Thursday 26 March 2015 (7pm) for budding entrepreneurs from across the Winchester District.

The evening aims to encourage local entrepreneurship and will feature short speeches from successful local businessmen Mr Mohamed Bakhaty and Mr Danny Habel as well as a keynote speech from Professor Don Nutbeam, Vice-Chancellor of Southampton University.

The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Eileen Berry, is looking for dedicated entrepreneurs of all ages from across the Winchester District to join her for a three-course dinner.

Cllr Eileen Berry said:

Before becoming a councillor I ran my own restaurant business. I understand how hard it is when you are first starting out and wanted to use my Mayoral year to give something back to local people who find themselves in the very same situation.

Local entrepreneur Mr Mohamed Bakhaty, of M A Bakhaty Property Holdings, added:

Starting your own business can be daunting. I am pleased to be able to work with the Mayor to help those considering this as an option.

If you would like to attend, please contact the Mayor’s Secretary dhadwen@winchester.gov.uk or phone 01962 848259 for more information. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
