Love Bishop’s Waltham?

The Bishop’s Waltham Town Team has appropriately chosen Valentine’s Day to launch its brand new website www.lovebishopswaltham.com.

The website is aimed at both local people and visitors and offers information on things to do and see, local history, shops and services, events, local clubs and organisations and plenty more.

The content for the site has been put together by the Bishop’s Waltham Town Team, a group comprising members from several community organisations and Winchester City Council. The group aims to future-proof the high street, encouraging shoppers and visitors from all over the region, but also attracting local people to use their town centre. The website is just one of the ways in which they are realising this goal.

Chairman of the Town Team, Tony Kippenberger, said:

The Town Team has worked hard to produce marketing materials in a variety of formats such as the Bishop’s Waltham Pocket Guide, but we recognise that in this day and age, the first place that the majority of people look for information is the internet.

This website will allow local people to find out more about the place where they live and will form the central pillar of larger marketing campaign to encourage visitors. The content of the site has been pulled together by Town Team members. However none of it would have been possible without the generosity of two local businesses and a grant from Hampshire County Council.”

Last year, Droxford-based pmdc design created new branding for Bishop’s Waltham and this has been incorporated into both print and digital marketing. The same branding has now been carried over to the new website, with pmdc developing the look and feel of it.

Local business, the Agile Marketing Agency, has developed the website featuring an online business directory, events calendar and pages packed full of information for visitors and businesses. The site makes the Town Team’s vision a reality and can be easily managed and updated by the Team with the very latest information.

Mark Woodroof of the Agile Marketing Agency said:

We are very pleased to sponsor this website as it will help raise the profile of Bishop’s Waltham and provide a really useful online resource for business networking and tourists alike.

The website goes live on Saturday 14 February, a date which will make the URL easy to remember: www.lovebishopswaltham.com. The high street will be decorated with balloons and the Town Team will be handing out heart-shaped biscuits bearing the web address from 10:30am.
