Love Tennis – Great British Tennis Weekend
A ‘Great British Tennis Weekend’ is being organised at River Park Leisure Centre on 19 and 20 July with free activities for everyone.
There is a wide variety of tennis sessions, aimed mainly at beginners, which can be booked for free online at www.greatbritishtennisweekend.com.
There will free strawberries and cream and goody bags for everyone taking part and a prize draw for a Babolat tennis racket for those who sign up to the ‘Love Tennis’ scheme.
Winchester City Council and Places for People Leisure in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association and Osman Tennis are launching the Love Tennis scheme to encourage more people to play tennis at the public courts in Winchester.
The Love Tennis card can be purchased for £30 (£15 for Passport to Leisure members) for year-round access to the tennis courts from 6am to 10pm - seven days a week.
Once purchased the card is valid for one year and is available for anyone in the household to use. Tennis courts at River Park Leisure Centre can be booked online, by telephone or at the reception. For more details on the Love Tennis scheme visit www.riverparkleisurecentre.co.uk

This is a fantastic opportunity for residents of all ages to try out tennis at the leisure centre courts. The card is great value for money and will enable families to get together and play tennis at any time of the day.

Tennis is a great way to socialise and bring families together. I am delighted that we are launching this scheme at River Park and I really hope that our courts will be full of people that are new to the game or haven’t played for a while.
