All are welcome to take part in this festive fun as the Christmas season officially begins in Winchester on Thursday 16 November, when the glittering lights will be switched on from The Broadway, outside the Guildhall Winchester, transforming the medieval city into a winter wonderland.

Acts on stage include; the cast of Cinderella Christmas pantomime, the University of Winchester Choir, Intergate dance will be preforming throughout the night and the up and coming girl group Vanity will be performing just before the switch on. Back by popular demand the main attraction of the night will be last year’s X Factor Contestants, The Reason 4, performing just after 6pm.
Start your Christmas shopping early and visit the festive market stalls, open from 3pm-7pm, located on The Broadway, showcasing the best in food, gifts, toys and crafts that Winchester has to offer. There will also be a variety of children’s entertainment for you and your family to enjoy.
The event has been organised by Winchester Business Improvement District (BID). Amy McCartan, Marketing Manager, comments “We are delighted that this year we are holding the event on the Broadway for the second year running. The area provides us with more space to incorporate local traders and children’s entertainment. We are thrilled that we have The Reason 4 preforming again for us this year as they were a hug hit before. We hope that this year’s event will be bigger and better than previous years”.
