Free Internet at Winchester Tourist Information Centre
Visitors to Winchester Tourist Information Centre can now benefit from free internet following the installation of two public access points.Following consultation with customers about what they would most like to see in the newly-refurbished tourist information centre (TIC), it was found that many visitors would find free internet access to find particular information.
The free internet access will compliment the personal service customers receive by allowing them to log on and check information such as onward flights or even the weather forecast!
Cllr Dominic Hiscock, Winchester City Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Prosperity, added: "It was a proud moment during my office as Mayor of Winchester to officially open the newly refurbished tourist information centre in Winchester. The TIC team has always prided itself on going the extra mile and acting on customers’ requests."
Winchester City Council’s Senior Information Assistant, Sarah Harfield, added: "Customer feedback is very important to us and we are delighted to have been able to respond to this particular request. We have recently been awarded the Customer Excellence accreditation in recognition of our outstanding customer service and we are always eager to do all we can to exceed expectations."
Winchester Tourist Information Centre is open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
