Save Money at Whiteley Energy Weekend
The Whiteley Action Group, with support from Winchester Action on Climate Change, is working to bring you the Whiteley Energy Weekend on 10th-12th September. The event, to be held at Whiteley Shopping Village, is free to enter, and will feature a range of energy companies and local businesses with ideas to save you money. You will learn about the big savings you can make from small measures, along with other energy saving tips and recycling ideas.
Everyone who takes part will also have a chance to win £1,000 reduction on your energy bill, sponsored by Southern Electric. There will also be a range of activities for children and families.
Cllr Al Menzies of Whiteley Parish Council, is looking forward to a busy event. He said: “This is not about telling you what not to do, but about new ideas and inspiration for what you can do to save energy and save money. We are all facing tough financial times, so come along and see what you can do to look after the pennies, so the pounds look after themselves!”
The aim of the event is to engage residents in a motivating and thought provoking way, to increase awareness of how to save energy, promote carbon reduction, and increase awareness about recycling and sustainable living. Confirmed stand holders include Scottish and Southern Electricity, Ovo Energy, Winchester City Council and Fareham Borough Council recycling teams, and 'Keep the House Warm'.
Further stands are available, and organisers are seeking interactive stand holders who have products or services to showcase which will help residents reduce their fuel bills. For more information, contact Al Menzies on 01489 588 501 or email al.menzies@whiteleypc.info
