A free ‘economic recovery’ seminar for local businesses

Local business owners are being invited to attend a FREE seminar on Thursday 12 November to help them make the most of opportunities as they emerge from the recession.

With the national economy showing signs of recovery, Winchester City Council is inviting businesses to take advantage of expert advice on money management, marketing opportunities, business planning, and many other issues.

The interactive seminar will be particularly helpful for the increasing number of start-up businesses in the area, with the City Council keen to help them flourish.

Cllr George Beckett, Leader of Winchester City Council, said: “Our workshops offer an ideal opportunity for entrepreneurs to consider where they want to be in a few years time, and how they are going to get there. Promoting economic prosperity across the district is one of the Council’s priorities and this seminar is just one of the Council’s many measures to support local businesses.”

The seminar will be led by two trainers with extensive experience of running businesses through good and bad times. They will be able to provide individually tailored support to those who attend.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to network with each another over lunch, and to meet Business Link advisors to discover other available training opportunities and networking events.

The seminar will take place on Thursday 12 November from 9am to 4.30pm at Marwell Hotel near Colden Common.  To book a place, contact Kate Crawford on 01962 848 563 or email kcrawford@winchester.gov.uk
