Daydreams on Paper
Don’t miss the opportunity to see Hannah Jessiman’s exhibition at the view, Winchester’s visual arts space on Bridge Street. Her mixed media exhibition of digital and handmade textile artwork runs from Friday 3 October to Friday 31October 2008.
Hannah is currently in her 3rd year at the Winchester School of Art, specialising in Fine Art. Her work tends to cross over the boundaries of both Graphic design and Fine art, and aims to explore a variety of different themes and subject matter using both digital and handmade elements.
Reflecting on her work, Hannah said:
“I explore the general trends of day-to-day life and the documentation of the thought process. The aim has been to energetically explore abstract thoughts, daydreams and our general, sometimes eccentric, observances.
Using humour and a variety of different media - including thread, manic mono printing, digital and original drawing, - every piece of work is individual, unique and full of detail.”
Hannah’s major influences have been artists such as Tracey Emin and Andrea Dezso.
Her literary influences include writers such as Jack Kerouac, Truman Capote and a variety of poets who have carefully documented their observations and feelings down to the finest detail.
