New recruitment portal is a big success
The new online Hampshire Local Authority Recruitment portal went live on 27 February this year and has been hailed as an immediate success.
Amongst the 12 local authorities using the website to recruit new staff are Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council.
The website, www.hampshirejobs.org.uk, received almost 200,000 hits within just 10 weeks of launching.
Nearly 13,500 applications have been received; 87% of which have been submitted on-line.
As well as the volumes attracted to the web site, candidates have reported a high degree of satisfaction with the new recruitment portal; with 94% of users rating the system as good or above.
Savings in excess of £1.2m are expected over the duration of the website contract. These savings are expected to arise from reductions in advertising, paper, postage and telephone costs.
