District and Parish Council Elections 2007

Councillors are due to be elected to one third of Winchester City Council's 57 seats on 3 May.

To be able to vote at these elections you will need to have registered at your address by 18 April. Anyone who wishes to change their postal vote details or apply for a postal vote should do so before that date.  If you have a postal vote you cannot ask for your ballot paper at the polling station.

There will be elections in 19 Wards as follows -  Bishops Waltham; Colden Common & Twyford; Compton & Otterbourne; Denmead; Itchen Valley; Littleton & Harestock; Owslebury & Curdridge; St. Barnabas; St. Bartholomew; St. John & All Saints; St. Luke; St. Michael; St. Paul; Swanmore & Newtown; The Alresfords; Upper Meon Valley; Whiteley; Wickham; and Wonston & Micheldever.

There are no elections this year for the following Wards - Boarhunt & Southwick, Cheriton & Bishops Sutton, Droxford, Soberton and Hambledon, Kings Worthy, Oliver's Battery & Badger Farm, Shedfield, and Sparsholt

Completed nomination papers should be handed in to the Electoral Services Unit at the City Offices, Winchester no later than noon on 4 April.

Poll cards will be sent out about three weeks before the election. If you do not receive a poll card or have any queries about the election process, then please contact the Electoral Services Unit on 01962 848 125 or email ereg@winchester.gov.uk     

Parish Council Elections
There are Parish Council elections in the following parishes: Bishops Waltham; Corhampton and Meonstoke; Denmead; Durley; Hursley; Itchen Valley; Itchen Stoke & Ovington; Littleton & Harestock; New Alresford; Northington; Otterbourne; South Wonston; Swanmore; Twyford; Upham; West Meon; Whiteley; Wickham; and Wonston.

If you interested in standing for election as a Parish Councillor, please contact the local Parish Clerk or the Electoral Services Unit. Completed nomination papers should be handed in to the Electoral Services Unit at the City Offices, Winchester no later than noon on 4 April.

Notes
The City Council elections will be held on Thursday 3 May but the count will take place on Friday 4 May at 9.30am in the King Alfred Hall, Winchester Guildhall.
