Want to make a Wallace and Gromit style animated film?

Following the sell-out success of last summer’s innovative workshops, the City Museum is once again offering local children the chance to learn how to use plasticine and wire to create their own mini-animated, ‘Wallace and Gromit’-style movie.

On Thursday 23 or Friday 24 August 2007, Winchester City Council’s museums service will be helping children to create their very own DVD on the subject of The Victorians in Winchester.

Children will first take inspiration from the Victorian gallery in the museum and then, using the latest computer equipment and techniques, course participants will have the chance to make their own short film with the help of expert film animator Lucy Jackson.  .

At the end of the course each child will receive a copy of the DVD to keep.  Participants can attend on one day or both days (10.30am – 3.30pm), at a charge of £20 per day. No experience necessary, but children should be eight years old or above and should bring their own packed lunch.  Early booking is advised as the course is limited to ten places per day.

To book a place on the course call the City Museum on 01962 863064.
