A few days 'till you can dive back in..!
There are only a few days until the refurbishment of River Park Leisure centre is complete. The centre looks set to fully re-open on Monday 3 July and there's more good news for customers.Following customer feedback DC Leisure has also installed brand new high-spec gym equipment during the refurbishment, including cross trainers, treadmills, recumbent bikes, rowing machines and spinning bikes.
The new gym equipment mirrors the improvements made in other areas of the centre. The sports hall has new high level redecoration, lighting and flooring, and the dry side changing rooms have been refurbished and have new lockers. Much of the work involved maintenance and replacing of plant and equipment affecting the pool, including swimming pool filters, boilers, pipe work, roof access and repairs, and some electrical rewiring, to keep the centre working effectively.
Cllr Patricia Stallard Portfolio Holder for Culture, Heritage & Sport said "The refurbishment of River Park Leisure Centre is nearly complete and we are pleased that DC Leisure has provided excellent new facilities for customers to match the improved leisure centre that people of the district will soon be able to enjoy".
