A feast of Tudor music

The Winchester Waytes will be performing authentic Tudor music in the atmospheric and historic setting of the ancient Westgate on Saturday 28 May 2005 from 1.00 pm. - 5.00pm to celebrate Museums Month.

Visitors will enjoy a lively exploration of Tudor music in a show and tell performance with an opportunity to find out all about the music and instruments of the period and a chance to join in themselves, playing replica percussion and wind instruments.

"This will be a really interesting afternoon for all the family," said Cllr Therese Evans, Winchester City Council's portfolio holder for Cultural Services.

"All different kinds of instruments will be used, both loud and gentle, to please the senses and entertain the ear! The Westgate is a great venue for Tudor music, as it contains a beautiful Tudor ceiling and panels, and many interesting objects from the period," she added.

Admission is free and no booking is required. Just turn up and join in!
