Girls' football coaching
Winchester City Council, in partnership with Hampshire FA, is offering girls the opportunity to have a go at the most talked about sport in the world - football.
During August, FA qualified coaches are bringing the 'global game' to Perins School, Alresford, giving girls the opportunity to improve their skills and techniques.
The summer coaching scheme will start on Tuesday 2 August for girls in school years 4 - 6, with sessions for girls in school years 7 - 9 starting on Thursday 4 August. All sessions will take place between 10am - 12noon on the Astro Turf pitch at Perins and will run for 3 consecutive weeks. Each session will cost £2, payable on the day.
Cllr Therese Evans, Portfolio holder for Culture, Heritage and Sport, said 'football is growing in popularity for girls and this is a great opportunity for girls across the district to be introduced to the sport, learn from qualified coaches and meet new friends at the same time'
