Business visits for Councillor
Cllr Richard Knasel, Winchester City Council's portfolio holder for economy and transport, has begun a series of visits to businesses within the Winchester district.
His first visit took him to Cine Wessex at Winnall, Winchester, the recent Small Business of the Year award winners in the Winchester Business Excellence Awards 2005.
Cine Wessex is not only a full TV and video facilities house, offering crews, equipment, post production and duplication services, but has recently committed to substantial new investment in DVD manufacturing, production and duplication equipment.
Earlier this year Cine Wessex won a contract to produce a programme for the Chelsea Flower Show which meant editing and producing a finished product in VHS and DVD formats overnight for sale at the Show the following day.
Cllr Knasel said "I want to know all I can about businesses across our district and their markets, and see how the Council, through its Winchester 4 Business office, can offer information, advice and guidance as well as practical support to develop the district's economy," he added.
