Drop in and draw

Local families have two great opportunities to take part in the national Big Draw Campaign when the City Council's museum service stages activities in Winchester.

Drop in and Draw Portraits at the Guildhall Gallery -children and parents can work with local artist Ali Eales to create a portrait, to take away or leave on display in the Big Draw Portrait Gallery. Come to The Guildhall, The Broadway, Winchester, on Saturday 16 October between 10am-5pm

Drop in and Draw at the City Museum - again with Ali Eales, you can sketch your favourite objects in the museum, and create our Big Draw Museum display. Join in at the City Museum in The Square, Winchester on Saturday 23 October between 10am-5pm.

Admission to both Big Draw events is free, and all art materials are provided

Rolf Harris recently launched this year's Big Draw Campaign in Trafalgar Square, where he led hundreds of amateur and professional artists in a gigantic recreation of John Constable's The Hay Wain.

The Big Draw is a National Campaign promoted by Drawing Power, The Campaign for Drawing. The aim of the Big Draw is simply - to get everyone drawing. October's Big Draw offers over 1000 events across the country to discover that drawing can aid observation, communication and invention and, above all, give pleasure.
