Keeping warm, keeping healthy

A double-decker bus containing an exhibition of home energy saving improvements will be in The Square, Wickham, on Friday 26 November as part of Warm Homes Week.

Winchester City Council is joining with Age Concern Hampshire to provide information and guidance on how to keep warm and comfortable this winter - plus a free energy-saving light bulb for visitors.

"We know how uncomfortable and distressing cold homes can be," said Cllr Brian Collin, the City Council's Cabinet portfolio holder for a healthy and inclusive community.

"We all feel the discomfort of increasing fuel costs and know of the wastage of valuable warmth through poorly insulated dwellings. Many incidents of cold related illness could be avoided if practical and sensible measures are taken which can also reduce your fuel bills."

The bus will be in The Square at Wickham between 10am and 3pm.
