New Head of Landlord Services at Winchester
Winchester City Council has appointed Richard Botham, as its new Head of Landlord Services, responsible to the Director of Health & Housing for all Council Housing issues.
The Head of Landlord Services is a new post to the Council set up to ensure that ambitious plans for the future of the Council's housing are delivered in the coming years. He starts his new role with immediate effect.
Mr Botham (41) is currently Head of Business Services at Winchester and already works very closely with tenants on rents, Right to Buy and Housing finance. He has worked in local government since 1981 in a variety of roles including accountancy, procurement and waste management. He has worked with the Housing Service since 1999 and has been responsible for the development of the Council's Housing Business Plan and the implementation of rent restructuring and is currently coordinating a detailed review of options for the future management of the Housing stock.
"I am looking forward to working even more closely with tenants and staff to ensure that the high standard of the current service is maintained and improved in the future. Winchester's housing is in good condition and well on course to meet the Government's Decent Homes standard by 2010. However, making sure we have enough resource to invest in the stock and the service generally will be a real challenge. I am fortunate to take on responsibility for a service that has been operating well for many years, with tenants expressing very high satisfaction with both their homes and the service they receive."
"Winchester Housing stock is also very important to the Council's overall aims and I will be working to ensure the service works hard to take account of and assist in meeting the needs of all residents of the district."
