Description

This short course is perfect for anyone interested in writing fiction for the first time. Over six weeks, Helen will introduce you to the core elements of fiction writing that are the building blocks of all stories. You will learn about creating compelling characters, writing dialogue, setting and world-building, plot and structure, finding your own writing voice and so much more.

This course is not focused on immediately writing short stories, or longer works of prose, but rather on offering you the creative skills and confidence to kick-start your fiction writing. As such, although you will be doing writing exercises in class and receive suggested exercises for homework each week, there will be no expectation for you to share your writing with Helen or your classmates for feedback. This is a feedback free zone where you can experiment, play and practice with total freedom.

The course will run on Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm, last date Saturday 22nd November. One place is reserved for someone from a low income household who does not have the financial means to attend.
