Play Area Refurbishments
Winchester City Council has a number of Play Areas due for refurbishment or in varying stages of process and we want to keep you up to date with our progress. Below are the Play Areas currently being worked on and the latest information available for each.

KGV
The play area is now open! There is now more play equipment and greater variety.
There remains some work to complete - the swings are waiting for chains to suspend the seats and an area of grass that has been seeded is fenced to allow germination and establishment. These items should be completed soon and in the mean time the rest of the play area is open for use.
We hope you enjoy the new play equipment.

Abbey Gardens
Abbey Gardens play area opened in March 2023 and has proved to be a great success with residents and visitors.
We are looking at the options to improve the play surface as the grass has worn away in some areas. We will keep you informed as we know more.

Talavera Park
Winchester City Council Natural Environment and Recreation Team are carrying out a review of the Talavera Road play area. Existing play equipment and seating will be removed and a new play area created.
Thank you to all those who responded to the consultation. We are evaluating the results and these will feed in to a design. Look out for updates as things progress.
