Out and about
From Monday 12 April, many of our local businesses and community facilities reopened as part of Step 2 of the Government's roadmap.
We are looking forward to seeing a return of people to our high streets and visitor attractions. Please remember to follow social distancing and other guidelines when you are out and about.
Check out our Visit Winchester website for attractions and accommodation in the Winchester district.
We've been through an extraordinary few months and whilst we’ve been working hard to keep Winchester COVID-19 Secure. There are measures in place to help you feel safe:
- Social distancing signage – you’ll find signs reminding you to keep your distance and how to navigate our narrower streets. These are here to help and we should all try to make allowances when moving about in the district – especially in town centres.
- Queues outside cafés and restaurants – as things will taking a little longer than usual and staff are adapting to new ways of working, please be patient.
- Hand santiser units – If you're popping into town you'll find new hand santising units across the city centre to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Remember to continue to follow social distancing guidelines when you are with people outside your household to keep each other safe.
If you've got any questions, worries or concerns, look out for Neighbourhood Wardens and BID Rangers who are happy to help or point you in the right direction for further information.
