Flood Alleviation Scheme - Park Avenue/St.Bedes, Winchester

The North Winchester Flooding Alleviation Scheme is a jointly funded scheme between Winchester City Council, Hampshire County Council, the University of Southampton School of Art and Central Government (through Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Grant in Aid funding allocated by the Environment Agency [EA]).
This scheme will protect the River Park Leisure Centre, St Bedes CE Primary School, the University of Southampton School of Art, residential properties in Park Road, and reduces the risk of flooding in other residential streets such as Middlebrook Street, Upper Brook Street and the High Street.

The first phase for the flood alleviation scheme for Park Avenue/St Bdes is now complete. We are now looking to undertake flood alleviation works around Durngate Bridge, the Trinity Centre and Durngate Terrace.
