Local people share their views about North Walls Recreation Ground

More than 800 people gave their comments and views about the popular North Walls recreation ground. The Council was keen to hear what people would like to see in this City Centre open space, which includes a play area, sports pitches and facilities, the river and a skate park.

Head of Landscape and Open Spaces at Winchester City Council, Susan Croker, said:

“We had an excellent turn-out on both days and we are very grateful for all of those residents and groups who attended and provided their positive feedback for the site and how it can be improved.

“We will be looking at their feedback very carefully and take it into consideration as part of our plans to preserve the much-loved green spaces and enhance the sporting and recreational facilities at the site.”

The event had a family feel, with families and children enjoying a range of activities and sports sessions including cricket, mini-golf, football and tennis.
